Hey everyone just thought i would put out a little post about rock climbing! Well first of all if you have never gone you should really try it! It's truly an awesome experience! It all started for me when i went down to Kentucky with Kathy Roche-Wallace and her husband Eric (pretty much my other parents :-) they took me to Slade to go climbing and it was life changing! probably the most fun i have had in a LONG time! So then i bought some of the equipment and have been going to the wonderful indoor climbing gym in Kalamazoo called "Climb Kalamazoo". It has anything and everything from easy 1st time routes for beginners or really challenging stuff for those pro's out there. I am heading over there tomorrow with my dad so that should be a lot of fun! I'll be sure to post some pics for you guys!
But climbing is just a great way to get away for a while just have fun with friends and family and it's always fun to challenge your self! So once again if you haven't gone climbing before i really encourage you to try so!
Thats my post for today! Have a Happy new years!
Hello everyone!
I hope you all are having a great holiday! I thought i would put up a post today about an email that i received today. It was an email inviting me to race in RAAM!!!!! for those of you that don't know what RAAM is, it is Race Across America! Yes it's pretty self explanatory. It is a bike race that goes all the way across America! it's a total of 3008 miles long! No that isn't a typo it's really 3,008 miles long and it last for 5-12 days. I received this email from a man that host RAAM and he had read about my success at the Midwest Ultra 12 hour. Which i currently have the 15 and under 12 hour U.S record for!!!! I road 212 miles in 12 hours during that race.
I found out that if i race RAAM before i graduate college that they would pay for my college!!!! Which would be like the most amazing thing in the world! Also being able to experience such a phenomenal race, would be an honor and life changing! Now I am not saying I have signed up for this race. But it is something I am somewhat considering. It's almost to big to imagine! I mean this race is considered one of the hardest bike races in the WORLD! Just being invited to this race is HUGE for me!
I'll keep you updated!
As far as training goes i have just been riding inside on my rollers. not to exciting in that department but hey it keeps me somewhat in shape!
Until next time!

The Past couple of weeks have been a bit chaotic but whatcha gonna do I guess.. So The big thing this week has been that I had to do a ton of testing on Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday at Bronson Hospital because it's been 14 years since I was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma Cancer. Well everything has come back great so far! So that's a big release! AS long as everything goes well I shouldn't have to go back until I'm 21!!!
As far as biking goes I have just been trying to get out 2-3 times a week. AND we had our executive team meeting about a week ago and I think that I may have landed our main sponsor for 2009! So that's some pretty exciting news! I will keep you posted when we here back from them! So overall everything is going pretty good. other then the Michigan weather... Oh well I guess. I only have to put up with it for about another week then I will be heading down to Kentucky for a few days of good 'ol rock climbing! So that will be a fun little Vacation that I have been looking forward to for a long time!
Hey everyone I am sorry I haven't kept my blog up to date I've been very busy with school and also learning about computer networking! Man there is a lot more out there than you might think! So that's been a lot of fun.
The down side is that I e been so busy that I haven't been able to get a ton of riding in :-( I went out an did 40 miles yesterday which is better than nothing but man that cold air sure gets to your lungs! I felt like I was sprinting when I was only going like 18! I guess we are just gonna have to bust out the indoor trainer.
Well I promise I will be updating more in the next few weeks now that I have this awesome e new app called ping.fm (check it out sometime at ping.fm) I can blog from my itouch! Which is totaly awesome! Until next time!

Hello everyone this is mark Sherman you may have read my blog before but it somehow all got erased so it looks like I will be starting all over again. Oh well I guess. So to tell you a bit about my self I am 16 years old and my life pretty much envolves biking and school.
I am proudly part of an awesome cycling team out of Battle Creek, MI! Irace both my mountain and my road bike but mainly road! I am near the end of my first racing season and my biggest accomplishment this year for cycling is probably getting the record for 21 year olds and younger at a 12 race in IL and I road 212 miles at that race. I owe it all to my team though especialy Kathy Roche-Wallace, Eric Wallace and last but certainly not least Eric Cook they have all always been there for me no mater what needed so I would like to says big thanks to them and let them know I couldn't have done it with out them!
I hope to be posting pretty consistantly with ride and race reports and just any other exciting news I have to share so please check back every now and then, and thanks for visiting!
